When To Use Nitros. Nitro Discussion Part 1

Nitros are an unique boost to this typing game called Nitro Type. You get a maximum of three for each race assuming to own as least three nitros in your garage. Knowing when to use the nitros can be the difference between 1st place and 5th place.
It is also a matter of cost. Nitros cost $20,000 for batches of 10. It works out to $2,000 per nitro. So if you spend two nitros and do not win the race you are losing out in money. That is because the game awards 2 nitros for 1st place and 1 nitro for 2nd place. 3rd to 5th place gets zero.
I have seen competitors win with less WPM and the same nitros used because of smart strategic use of their nitros.
Save your nitros for long words. A general rule is a word with 9 letters or more.
Words with letters all over the keyboard are also good candidates for utilizing your precious nitros.
If you are using small text mode, then scan a few lines down to prepare your mind for certain words you want to use nitro on.
Often the first word and last word are good strategic nitros. The last word in the text is especially good to use it on because you can see if someone else is going to beat you to the finish line. If another racer is for sure going to get there first you can just save your nitro. A nitro saved is a nitro earned, basically that is $2,000 extra. You can be more flexible for words if it is one of the last words, 7 letters or more is fine.
This is where you have to see how many super long words there are.
