Are you a New Captain? Important tips to Develop a Successful Team
How to Start a Successful Team
Rule #1: when you're starting a team, always remember that having some players (even if they're inactive) are better than having no players. Keep in mind you can always remove inactive players. A general rule for me was once C0LD had at least 40-45 players, then that's when I started removing players.
Rule #2: don't stayed attached to one officer! If an officer is inactive or disrespectful, make sure they are aware. Remember that officers are leaders of the team too. Other members may look up to them or see that they are inactive, so make sure the officers you choose are reliable, loyal, active, and good role-models. If you're unable to race because you're unavailable or for other reasons, your officers should be able to help lead the team when there's no one else too. Remember: officers are essential!
Rule #3: remind your members that they are important because without them, the team won't be as successful.
Rule #4: be encouraging and strive to do your best. If players on your team see that you're inactive, they might be inactive too.
Rule #5: recognize! If they team is doing well, then point that out and congratulate the team. On the contrary, if they are inactive, point that out and encourage them to race more. You can also point out certain racers that you notice are active though. However, don't point out inactive racers because it could make the racer feel bad about themselves.
Rule #6 (optional): you can hand out cash prizes as a motivation for members to race. You don't have to hand them out yearly, but you can award them during events. They don't have to be large amounts either, it's just to get players motivated into racing.
Rule #7 (optional): you can start a discord to communicate better with other teammates.
Rule #8: make your team a happy environment to be in. Don't be overly negative or critical. Also, make sure members aren't swearing, cussing, saying inappropriate things, etc. Make players feel welcomed.
